Hi Connor, I made a visual assembly guide for the full acrylic enclosure kit, see my Photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/machinecollective/sets/72157617617289570/

A monome kit would fit inside the Arduinome enclosure, but you'd have much space on all sides around the keypads.. plus the logic board doesn't fit the backpanel.. it was designed for an Arduino.. the USB connector of the monome logic board is positioned much higher.

Hey xndr
First of all, cant thank you enough for getting all of these up, theyre really going to help me a lot in constructing my first monome. Now to the questions,

I was looking at your order page and under monome you had an option "full enclosure," Does this include the faceplate, bottom panel, and the enclosure for the sides or only the two panels?

Also, theoretically would your arduinome enclosures fit a monome 40h kit?

Thanks in advance for helping me out with some pretty basic questions,
Connor

Hi Mike, I think satin black will work very well with your choice of wood and leds. My kits come with fasteners and threaded spacers, so you can sandwich your wooden frame between the top and bottom panels. Check our photostream for various examples.

Hi Xndr

Ferrari sucks this year, and I lost my battle: it's too difficult here to create an alu faceplate for an accettable price, so I'm going to buy your plates, and I'll create a new wooden case.

Which faceplate would you suggest me for a not too dark woodencase and green leds? Glossy or satin, black or white?

Once I have the top plate and the bottom plate, how can I fix 'em to the case... I see you supply the fasteners to secure the boards to the plates, but how to secure the plates to case? Dummy question I know, but so am I!

Ciao

Hi xndr

I received yesterday evening the wooden case... Too fast here, I'm near maranello, land of Ferrari (not so fast in the last GP!) :D

Now I own a 184mm large wooden box (171,5 mm available for the front plate), and unfortunately your plate doesn't fit: I think I'm going to try to deal with a local company for CNC milling an alu plate. If the process will be too expensive I build up again a new box and buy your plate: now it's a challenge for me!!

Ciao

Hi Mike,

That sketch you found was of my custom monome enclosure with aluminum faceplate, I made it before I started Machinecollective.org.

The size of a monome faceplate kit is 177.5mm square. The thickness is 2 x 3mm = 6mm.

It's probably best to wait building your sides until you actually have the faceplates in hand.. The space in between the top and bottom panels is also an variable factor.

Hi xndr

I'm going to buy one acrylic faceplate and one bottom panel: could you please give me the size of the plate (I see the thickness is 3mm) cause I'm going to work on the wood for the enclosure.

I'm going to use your sketch on flickr

http://www.flickr.com/photos/machinecollective/2843556713/in/set-72157607206681645/

is it ok for this faceplate (I saw you used a 4 mm faceplate, so I think the thickness of the groove must be 3 mm instead of 4)?

Thanks
Bye
